![]() After a night of drinking, what's the first thing you do when you get home? For me, after the heels and sticky bra come off, I immediately open the freezer. Once I have my spoon and my ice cream, it's go time. But the times are changing, and thanks to Arctic Buzz, waiting until the end of the night to feast on dessert has become a thing of the past. After years of trying to combine vodka and ice cream (the two best freezer items, obviously), this genius company makes "homemade, hand-churned, smooth vodka frozen dairy dessert." But Arctic Buzz didn't just pour a bottle into some preexisting popular ice cream. The Baltimore-based company has created specific flavors with a local distillery to ensure the blend of dessert and hand-crafted vodka goes down smoothly. So, say goodbye to those throat-burning bottom shelf college vodka memories, and grab your spoons. Arctic Buzz ice cream comes in six flavors - Cookies & Cream, Key Lime Pie, Raspberry, Coconut, Vanilla, and Chocolate - all with varied alcohol content levels, ranging from 8.6 percent to 8.9 percent in the entire 100-milliliter container. And because we know you're wondering, the coconut flavor has the highest with 8.9 percent alcohol. The ice cream is sold at liquor stores across Maryland. Read on to see some of the delicious boozy ice cream and get ready to salivate.

Fall Installation
9/25/2017
You know a new season is almost here when the Market gets a fresh look. This year's fall display is all about texture. From florals at the entrance, to stacked yarn balls of all different sizes and colors, we're ready to bring autumn indoors. We hope shopping at Magnolia this fall becomes an experience of its own. The part of our new display that guests seem to look forward to the most is our front mantel. This is one of the first things you notice when you walk through the front door, so we always go the extra mile to make it a worthy first impression. Each flower above it was hand embroidered from yarn, and the lettering is a quote that we used in the fall issue of The Magnolia Journal: Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life, it turns what we have into enough and more. Melody Beattie
Every corner of the Market was carefully thought out, and getting to see all of the visuals come together is one of our favorite parts of the Market display.
Some of the very best store elements can be found in the details! Maybe you wouldn't want to hang a display of falling leaves in your home, but some of our favorite design ideas that incorporate product can be discovered in the smaller display elements.
The kitchen is a place we tend to spend more time during fall months, and we wanted to carry that feeling over to this kitchen, too. If you leave this corner of the Market ready to whip up Grandma's Homemade Apple Pie, then we've done our job.
And, of course, the sweetest part of changing seasons: new cupcakes! This fall, we're bringing back Cup o' Jo, a tried and true favorite with chocolate cake and espresso buttercream icing. As well as Campfire, a nod to everyone's go-to childhood dessert- s'mores. And last for best, Pumpkin Spice, an old-fashioned pumpkin cake and cream cheese icing.
Fall at the Market is definitely something worth seeing. We hope you leave feeling fueled with fresh ideas to put to work in your own home this season. (And maybe a box full of fall cupcakes for the road!) Are you planning a visit to Magnolia in the next few months? Comment below and let us know what you're looking forward to most of all! 9/19/2017
So you're looking for information on term life insurance? You've come to the right place! Here's your quick and not-so-dirty guide to term life insurance: what it is, how it works, why you need it, how much it costs, and how to buy it. What is Term Life Insurance?Term life insurance is a little like car insurance. You pay for car insurance every month, but it only kicks in if your car gets damaged for an insurable reason. In the case of term life insurance, though, the insurable event is, unfortunately, your own demise. Term insurance policies will provide your beneficiaries (read: whoever you name to receive the funds) with money upon your death. How Does it Work?Term life insurance policies have a few components, which we'll define here quickly:
So here's how all of these work together. When you purchase a term life insurance policy, you choose your death benefit and your term. The insurance company sets your premiumbased on these two numbers plus a variety of factors that tell them how risky you are to insure. You pay your premiummonthly or annually. If you're still alive when the termis up, the insurance company keeps their money. But you're still alive, so, yay! If you die during the term, that stinks. But your beneficiaries get the death benefitfrom the insurance company. It's as simple as that. Because it's so simple, we call term life insurance a pure insurance product. As opposed to whole or universal life insurance which includes an investment portion, making it a lot more complicated. Term life insurance is just that: insurance. It's like car insurance or homeowners insurance. You have it because you mightneed it. But you hope you never have to use it. Why Do You Need It?Most adults need some form of life insurance coverage. Here are some reasons you might need it:
In short, there are lotsof reasons you might need term life insurance. And there are lotsof ways to calculate how much coverage you need. We're not tackling that long-winded issue here, though. You can check it out in this article. How Much Does It Cost? Here's the good news: for healthy people, term life insurance is pretty cheap. You can get $100,000 of coverage for just a few bucks a month. With that said, your mileage may vary. The younger and healthier you are (read: the less likely to die during your chosen term), the cheaper the insurance will be. But compared with other life insurance products, term will nearly always be the cheaper option. How Do You Get It?Luckily, purchasing term life insurance is easy. Plenty of online platforms will now give you a quote based on some basic information. Two of our favorites are Haven Life and Policy Genius.
You may, however, need to undergo a basic medical examination before the policy can be completed. This usually includes a nurse coming to your house to weigh you, check your blood pressure, and possibly take a blood and/or urine sample. The insurance company is just looking for any health factors that may make you more likely to die during the termand thus more expensive to insure. So that's it! This was just a quick guide to term life insurance, though. If you need more information, check out these articles:
